How long does an EGO 56V battery take to charge?
With EGO's rapid charger, a fully flat EGO 56V ARC Lithium battery charges in roughly 20 to 45 minutes depending on its capacity. The larger the battery (more amp-hours), the longer the charge — but even the biggest 7.5Ah pack is ready in well under an hour.
Charging time by battery
| Model | Capacity | Type | Best for | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BA1400T | 2.5Ah | Light | Trimmers, blowers, chainsaw | $69 |
| BA2800T | 5.0Ah | All-round | Small mowers and every handheld tool | $99 |
| BA4200T | 7.5Ah | Long run | Self-propelled mowers and bigger yards | $149 |
Typical rapid-charge times
- BA1400T 2.5Ah: about 20 minutes — the fastest-charging pack in the range.
- BA2800T 5.0Ah: about 30 minutes.
- BA4200T 7.5Ah: about 45 minutes.
Standard chargers take longer than the rapid charger, and a battery that is very hot or very cold may pause charging until it reaches a safe temperature — that's normal and protects the cells.
Tips to spend less time waiting
- Own two batteries. One charges while the other works, so you never stop mid-job.
- Charge before you're empty. Topping up a half-used pack is much quicker than a full recharge.
- Let a hot battery cool first. After heavy use, give the pack a few minutes before docking it.
- Store at room temperature. Extreme heat or cold slows charging and shortens battery life.
Can you leave an EGO 56V battery on the charger?
EGO chargers stop drawing once the pack is full, so a battery left on the charger won't overcharge. For long-term storage, take it off the charger and keep it in a cool, dry place.
