EGO battery replacement: which 56V battery should you buy?
Every EGO POWER+ 56V tool uses the same ARC Lithium battery platform, so any 56V replacement battery works with any EGO 56V tool — mower, trimmer, blower or chainsaw. The only real choice is capacity: 2.5Ah, 5.0Ah or 7.5Ah.
Replacement batteries compared
| Model | Capacity | Type | Best for | From |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| BA1400T | 2.5Ah | Light | Trimmers, blowers, chainsaw | $69 |
| BA2800T | 5.0Ah | All-round | Small mowers and every handheld tool | $99 |
| BA4200T | 7.5Ah | Long run | Self-propelled mowers and bigger yards | $149 |
Signs it's time to replace your EGO battery
- Run time is noticeably shorter than when the battery was new, even after a full charge.
- The tool cuts out under load although the fuel gauge shows charge remaining.
- The battery takes much longer to charge, or won't reach a full charge.
- The pack is physically damaged, swollen, or has been stored flat for a very long time.
Which replacement should you choose?
- BA1400T 2.5Ah: the light, budget-friendly swap for trimmers, blowers and the CS1611 chainsaw.
- BA2800T 5.0Ah: the best all-round replacement — doubles the run time of a 2.5Ah pack for a modest price step.
- BA4200T 7.5Ah: the upgrade pick for self-propelled mowers and big yards — the longest run time EGO's 56V range offers.
You can replace a smaller battery with a bigger one freely: a 7.5Ah pack runs any tool that came with a 2.5Ah battery, just longer. Many owners use a replacement as an excuse to upgrade capacity.
Will a new battery work with my old charger?
Yes — EGO 56V batteries and chargers are cross-compatible within the 56V POWER+ system. Your existing charger charges any replacement pack; see our charging time guide for what to expect.
