The CS1400 14" chain saw is the lightweight grab-and-go cutter for limbs, storm cleanup and firewood — 6,800 RPM chain speed with tool-free tensioning. 2.5Ah battery and charger included.
since my first Ego product (their leaf blower), i have been really please with all my Ego items (trimmer, blower, hedger, chainsaw, lighting & polesaw) and their chain saw is amazing! i really don’t feel like typing out a couple hundred words so ill just say this….you will NOT find a more easy-to-use, more reliable & more versatile tool line than with Ego products! Nuff Said!
It’s light and powerful and easy to use! Has quickly become the preferred chainsaw when it’s the right size for the job. My only comment is that the chain gets loose and comes off more easily than on my other chainsaws. Spoke with a friend who has the same one and noted the same issue. Check it before every cut and this is workable though.
electric is definitely the way to go. oil does seep a little when set overnight or not used for a few days. Easy to use. Instructions clear and straightforward. Minimal maintenance.
Got it this size so my wife can use it comfortably and safely. Great Chainsaw for small homeowner jobs. We mostly cut up backyard campfire wood or wood for smoking and grilling (12' or less long and 8" or less in diameter)
I was very skeptical about battery powered tools but I bought the ego weed eater then their blower. They have so much unbelievable power. So when needed a chainsaw I bought their 14 inch it does everything that my gas chainsaw did. Plenty of power.
Very impressed. So easy to use and safer than a gas chainsaw. Long battery life. I had to stop and take a break but the battery just kept going. I also have an EGO leaf blower. I will continue to purchase EGO products
This is my first Ego purchase. A close friend has owned numerous Ego products and speaks very highly of the equipment he owns. I just finished my first chainsawing work and absolutely love the chainsaw. It made easy work of the fallen trees and limbs that I had to cut. So much easier to use than my previous gas machine. I’m a new fan of the Ego brand.
I have been using a Ryobi 18 volt One Plus and using this 14 inch Ego 56 volt is a game changer. I has been cutting through everything like butter. I am really enjoying this and wish I had bought it a year or two ago.
I love the convenience of the chainsaw. By the time the battery is done, so am I! It is fairly light so saves on my back. It gathers a lot of sawdust on the unit around the chain which I brush of on every use. I have learned to take the chain cover off and clean off after EVERY USE after this event. Saw was not cutting well after about 4 hrs of use (disappointing!) so bought a new chain. When I started to replaced it, I found was a LOT of grease-filled sawdust packed around the chain inside the cover! Once I brushed and removed it, I replace the cover and tried to cut without replacing the chain. It CUT again. Not sure if that's normal.
I'm really impressed. I bought this to clear some invasive honeysuckle and some honey locust. In <30 minutes, I was able to take down ~12 honeysuckle and 3 dead cedar and even cut them up into small enough pieces to fit in a small wagon. Some of the honeysuckle were fairly large, as were the cedar. The EGO made quick work of it...it would have taken me hours without it. It still had plenty of charge left.
Great product. Customer service outstanding. Had issue with two leaf blowers. They replaced both with no charge. I have leaf blower and chainsaw. Batteries are interchangeable. Both products provide the power I need.
Had this for about 10 years and it still works great. Recently had a 20” oak taken down and this still was able to log it just fine. Obviously being a 14” it was a bit slower going than if I hacks the 20”, but that’s the biggest they made when I bought it. With the 12’s from my new snowblower I was able to log 30’ into 14” logs without needing to swap batteries and still had power left. As with most of my reviews…I just really wish EGO had a loyalty program or trade in option because I own several GEN 1s but would really like to upgrade. If 14” is all you need this is great and it will do bigger, but in this case bigger is better. Still in the original bar too after 10 years. Solid product.
I am a bit disappointed by this chainsaw. It cuts small branches okay but struggles on larger limbs such as 6"-12" diameter in size. There are no bumper spikes to help grab the edge of the wood during cutting and it just does not cut with the same efficiency as my gas powered saw.(which I had hoped to retire). Also, it is at least as heavy or heavier than my gas powered one. The quality appears excellent but I believe some additional engineering is in order. Oh, and a matching green bar sheath would be cool.
I love how easy it is to use, especially by a 68 year old woman like me! It's very effective in sawing through trees and I really love how easy it is to adjust the tension on the chainsaw! Great addition to my growing inventory of Ego equipment!
The best all around battery powered chainsaw. It's got as much power as my gas saw. It runs fairly quiet too. This is a great choice. I hoghly recommend this Ego brand chainsaw.
Recently received this chain saw a week ago. I used it once and made approx. a dozen cuts with it. It's definitely easier to use than a gas powered unit. The tree was approx. 8 inches in diameter. Everything went well. I would recommend this saw.
I have multiple gas and battery saws in my fleet. Bar far this one delivers on its abilty to perform better than ones in the same class. Using it on all harwood trees over the last several days for felling, and bucking and have been very pleased.
Bought this to trow in a backpack for clearing mountain bike trails. Great little saw. Only thing I would change is add metal dogs but that is a minor gripe.
Light and easy to use on at least 12 9nch diameter if you wedge out the center. If you have a lot to cut use one of the larger Ego batteries. I have not had any oil leak issues like I read on other Ego chainsaw reviews but it says right in the instructions not to store it full of oil as it may leak. We just had a really bad windstorm and tons of branches down. This worked great. Our neighbors bought one too and said the same.
I bought this to do small limb cleanup. It is very convienent and ready to go when you need it. I have cut five inch limbs with it with no issues. I'm sure it will cut larger ones also.
Saw works great except for the chain has a tendency to jump off if you're not very careful when completing the cut. Also, the oil leaks out if you store the saw sitting on a surface just like it is in the above picture. The only way I've found to store it without leaking is lying it on it's side.
I was so pleasantly surprised by how well this chainsaw (and specifically this brand of chainsaw) works. Cuts great! Battery lasts longer than I expected. After a storm a couple of years ago, I had a large maple tree fall. This chainsaw was used to cut up most of the "brush" of that tree, and worked marvelously! Very Impressed!
LOVE the 14” chainsaw-size is just right for maximum safe handling in the over fifty users. Ego might want to review and edit its instructions for filling the oil (don’t believe I’m particularly obtuse, but I found them very confusing).
