The CS1804 18" chain saw delivers 45cc gas-equivalent power — up to 300 cuts on a single charge with the included 5.0Ah battery. Tool-free chain tensioning and automatic oiling included.
Very impressed with the power, cutting through very thick poplar was easy. And it is so much more reliable than the gas powered Stihl for starting up ( Stihl is a very good chainsaw too but doesn’t start reliably in spite of good care taken with it. )
This was a christmas gift that I had not used until this month. We knew we were going to have trees falling or that would need to be taken down. This saw did everything that it said it would do. I like being able to reach all parts of the yard and not having the noise of a gas engine. We used it the first time for about three hours on one charge.
I have only used it once, it worked very well. I like it because when you release the trigger, it stops. Also, buying this with the 5amp battery provided us with an additional battery for our other EGO tool (21" mower, weed-eater, blower). My only wish \ suggestion is that EGO would provide a service to "fix" a battery that will not take a full charge (10amp battery 6 years old, only 2 out of 5 lights will charge).
From lawn mowers to the chain saws and the power head with attachments I’ve used and abused their products and I can say confidently with 10+ years of hard use they make great stuff that holds up. I still have the 16” chain saw that I’ve been cutting all my firewood since 2016 and it still works great. The new 18 was an addition for larger logs.
Really impressed with it's cutting power. I've got the Ego T6 Garden Tractor coming next week and will definitely buy a snowblower this Fall. Does Ego have a snow plow coming out? Or an indoor battery storage cabinet for homes in winter?
I think this chain saw is great, If you know how to us a chain saw, you can make the batter work for you, the oil compartment doesn't leak like most. The oil isn't over done. The chain adjustment is very handy. Overall, very nice for moderate to light mid cutting.
Trying battery powered yard equipment for the time
I ran very well I was clearing some small trees . The only issue I had was the chain popped off twice . Easily put back on but that was my only issue .
I love this saw....however I bought the display at ACE and its a 2021. Maybe the technology has changed since then, but the chain system is hard to use. Its different to put the cover on. Maybe thats changed????
I’m not a pro, just a property owner with plenty to keep a saw busy, but I love everything about this saw! No yanking, stalling out, smoking, spilled fuel or ear-spitting roaring. Just charged battery, added the chain oil, and pulled the trigger. Tore through 12 inch ash trees as well as any gas saw I have used for the last 50 years. Also great being able to use 2 Ego batteries from my snow blower for all the power I will need.
Still a great tool, and I am fairly certain I have submitted a review. I tried to unsubscribe, but the link to unsubscribe didn't connect. So, still 5 stars, but please stop asking me to submit reviews. Thanks
After my stroke, I couldent pull the rope hard enough on my gas saw. Chose EGO as I have the Mower and trimmer. Cut several 14 inch oaks with ease. Can interchange all 3 battries.
Works like a charm - fast, clean cut. Powerful, but not for more than 45 minutes with the supplied battery - a back up is most helpful for larger jobs. Let cool down between usage of batteries.
Excellent Tool ! I've been using gas powered chain saws for 40 years. Different sizes and brands, and they've all served me well. The level of convenience and power with the EGO 18" saw has convinced me to switch over permanently. No more gas/oil mix...no more balky carbeurators and sketchy starting. Just bring a couple 5 Ah batteries and a bottle of bar oil and I'm good for the day.
Got so tired of having to mess with carburetors and fuel additives and noise with my gas-powered saws. Had an older battery-powered chainsaw but it didn't have enough power. This chainsaw solves all those problems. Love it.
Very powerful and also very efficient battery. I like also the 18 inches lenth giving flexibility with larger trees and also when preparing tree piece for woodtuning a bowl
I was surprised. I cut 2 trees down and sawed them into smaller pieces, using only one battery. And the noise factor is a definite plus. I recommend this product.
